As I neared my retirement years, I had the opportunity to buy some property out of state and work on building me a new homestead. Unfortunately I had spent my savings faster than I planned, so to complete the work on my new homestead I was suddenly needing to sell my primary residence, after living there for 26 years. I needed to sell quickly or get someone to provide me a loan to help with living costs and any renovation costs prior to selling. This was my first time selling a house, and I only knew of a few real estate agents. As I interviewed them, I explained my situation along with my desire to renovate the house and the need for a loan, not to mention my needing them to educate me on the requirements to sell my home.
I had met Sonia Maiello years earlier as she went door-to-door with flyers with available real estate and housing market information. Sonia hosted neighborhood potlucks at her home which was also in my neighborhood. Sonia has always projected herself as a friendly and a very proactively helpful person. Once, when I considered some work on my house, Sonia had provided me with some professional contacts. When I interviewed Sonia, in hope to selling my home, she had brought along a General Contractor (Rolando Molina - MBC remodeling Inc.) which she was familiar with, so that we could consider the renovation options. It was a great experience. They listened patiently to my ideas, and they presented ideas of their own which they thought would help improve the sell point. With Sonia‘s encouragement the General Contractor agreed to carry the cost of the renovations through to escrow. His itemized estimate for the renovation options were quite reasonable. I was also having problems finding a loan at traditional loan institutions, once again Sonia leaped into action with her well rounded knowledge in the housing industry and came to my rescue by referring me to some private investors. This allowed me to manage living expenses and have my home renovated before selling!
Furthermore, I needed help packing my belongings for the move out of state, and again Sonia worked with Rolando to provide me with services to help out, Since I was no longer living locally. Sonia went above and beyond to provided me with regular updates of the beautiful renovations along side some amazing and luxurious landscaping. Sonia kept communication channels open between Rolando’s work crew and I. When inspections were needed, Sonia was able to find inspection companies that could wait to be compensated at the closing of escrow. Sonia also helped bring clarity to the tasking forms that I needed to fill out and helped keep me on schedule as we approached putting my home on the market.
Sonia did an excellent job of marketing my house, she looped me in with an excellent staging company, got great photo’s and even great content of a virtual tour for the listings. She sent out e-mails to her mailing lists, went door to door in the neighborhood to hand out flyers and invite neighbors to the open houses that she hosted. Within a weeks time we had 8 bids all above asking with a bit of a bidding war between two bidders. I’m pretty confidant that Sonia and her connections, along with Rolando’s team helped me get close to half a million dollars more than if I had sold “as-is”!
Thank you so much for your help Sonia! Please pass along my upmost gratitude to the rest of your team for their assistance.
