When my husband, Kai, and I first began talking about purchasing a home in the Fall of 2017, I was hesitant to meet with a realtor. I thought that if we did, we'd get cornered into something we weren't quite ready for. After meeting with Kala, I learned that it was quite the opposite. Instead of "cornering" us, he coached us; teaching us the homebuying process and what we could expect. Furthermore, he connected us with his trusted lender so that we could see approximately how much house we could afford - something that was truly helpful for us. Lastly and more importantly, Kala assured us that he would always be there to help us and answer our questions, whether we were ready to purchase a home or not. When 2018 rolled in, Kai and I decided that this was the year we would purchase our first home. We pulled Kala back into the fold, who advised us to begin saving money and working on our credit scores. During that time he mentioned that there was an upcoming Locations first-time home buyer seminar that he wanted us to attend; he felt it would be beneficial for us. We agreed and rather than having us go alone, Kala accompanied us so that he could help to clarify anything we didn't understand during the presentation. Prior to the seminar Kai and I felt that we were nowhere near ready to buy a home. Walking out of it, we felt that it was a lot more attainable than we'd originally thought. We left that evening grateful and thankful to Kala for encouraging us to join the seminar. In April on a Wednesday, while browsing through the Locations app Kala also introduced us too, we stumbled upon a newly listed home that for us, was love at first sight. That very same night, we made the decision to view the home that Saturday. We called Kala the next morning to let him know we wanted to see the house. By that afternoon we had a scheduled appointment for a walk-through. Later that evening we were learning what to look for in the walk-through and different tactics to take based off of whether or not there were any offers on the table. That Saturday, after Kai and I saw the house, we expressed our love and excitement for the property to Kala. He immediately got to work - midday on a Saturday - putting together an offer and writing a beautiful cover letter that nearly moved us to tears. The next thing we knew, the Georgis had accepted our offer and we were on our way to becoming first-time homebuyers. From when we first started talking about a home to the end of escrow, Kala was always there for us. He answered, what I'm sure were, a million questions and guided us through the ins and outs of every little step of the home-buying process. His professionalism, knowledge and genuinely kind personality helped to make what could have been a stressful situation into a walk in the park. We have nothing but high praises for Kala and are grateful and thankful to him for helping us make our dream of buying a home come true.
