We first worked with Jean Longest, our primary agent, in 1992 to help us find our future home in Westover Hills. When we decided to sell it in 2014, we called her to handle it. Both experiences were excellent: Jean is not only a terrific agent but a delightful person to work with. So, when we decided this year to sell our condo unit in North Richmond, we of course called her up. Once again, we had a fine experience working with her. We also worked for the first time with her son, agent Montgomery Maguire, who likewise did an outstanding job. We would not hesitate to recommend each of them (in fact, we have recommended Jean before to anyone we know who wants to buy or sell a home).
We could not be more pleased. As always, we put the work in together: planning and preparation of the home, placement on the market, sale negotiations and closing. Experience and long standing personal relationships pay off, but the agent's experience and ability to understand the intangibles were invaluable.
We chose Jean Longest rather than Long & Foster but have used Long & Foster (Eileen Foster) in the past. Jean specializes in these old homes and has personally been inside every one of them in the over 50 years she has spent in the West Avenue area.
Jean was without question the best realtor to work with for our situation. Not only did she know the market, but the contractors she knows to come in and do the work was the key to our transaction. Being remote, she also handled everything locally for us. We would not have had such a successful sale with anyone else. Thanks Jean!
