Recently, I had the great pleasure of working with Mr. George Hahalis in the sale of my mother’s former vacation home in Vallejo, CA. In early April, I first spoke with George about marketing the home for sale. I exchanged emails with George and I became confident the Sotheby’s was the right choice and he would be the right person to handle the long-distance transaction. Once I signed a listing contract on May 8, things happened fast. With my approval, George handled all the needed maintenance and repair work necessary to ready the home for sale. He did it as though he owned the property, that is, he got the most bang for the buck and did nothing that wasn’t needed. He did all the leg work, made calls and trips to the property manager to obtain keys. Got a landscaper on the property to enhance the curb appeal. Got the interior painted at a great price. I WAS IMPRESSED! With the house in great shape, George set up an open house for the first weekend in June but got an offer on May 30th.
Originally born and raised in Napa Valley, we have always loved this area. As a young family, we settled in Vacaville and raised our three children for 28 years. With our parents aging and having increasing needs, we felt it was time for us to move back to Napa to help care for them. We met George while we were out looking at Open Houses. He showed us around the house and although we did not find our home there, we did find our realtor. He wasn’t pushy as some can be, but rather humble and willing to help serve us. We left that Open House and grabbed one of his cards, not knowing at the time just how much we would indeed need his help. We were running into road blocks with a realtor that we had first begun to work with and were finding it very frustrating. We decided to give George a call and are so glad we did.
