There are times in my life I have felt overwhelmed. Never more so than selling the home where I created a farm and lived for 50 years. I had always believed I would die here. But as I became older I knew I could not keep the property in the condition it deserved. So my wife and I made the decision to sell. We needed guidance through the maze of legal paperwork and strategies. But that was only one of my needs. The other was the emotional support to do what my wife and I needed rather than live in the fantasy of being able to live here forever. At many points Liz assured me that if I was not ready there was no obligation to proceed. Yet we knew that we could not continue to stay on the farm. Above and beyond that Liz listened to our goals. I had set my price early on, and Liz respected that yet tempered my expectations with her expertise in reality. As the process unfolded, somewhere in the middle we found a realistic common ground that proved to be the magic formula. I have always held the belief through out my life that the correct path will be known as you travel it. Liz told me. "Believe and it will be!" I scorned her belief... no one could have the same faith in the universe as I did! Yet there we were,.. together meeting our goals; hers to serve her client, my wife's and mine, to find a new dream and a place to grow old together. This, the only home I have ever sold, and now the only home I have ever bought. Thank you Liz for understanding, for holding the rudder on course throughout this storm that had encompassed my life.
