Alexandra French recently represented my wife Lucy as her realtor on a difficult transaction. It is important to mention that this property had been listed prior to our involvement with Alexandra, with only a single showing. Alexandra had never worked with us before, and our process of selecting her was based on a series of initial telephone calls and a face-to-face office interview. Alexandra's energy and enthusiasm to help us was high from day one. The property that Alexandra sold for us was the house that Lucy had grown up in, converted to a rental following the death of Lucy's mother. Quite frankly, the place had issues, such as a poorly-maintained yard, less than adequate interior maintenance, and it was still occupied by the tenants who were on a month-to-month lease. Showing the property had to be coordinated with the third party management company that we were using, as well as the tenants (all of which added another level of complexity), and any prospective buyer would ultimately have to be willing to wait to take on the tenants, or wait for them to vacate, assuming a deal was reached. Initially we were uncertain of the asking price, we did not want to put a lot of money into this property (realizing that we would never recover much of it). Alexandra helped us to arrive at a fair and reasonable price, factoring in the area of town and sub-par condition of the house. Showings occurred very quickly after the listing went up, and within only a week or so we had our first offer (which we rejected as low-ball). A couple of weeks later a serious buyer surfaced, and after an initial offer and house inspection, an acceptable sales price was reached. A couple of 'tweaks' to the contract were needed, which did not cause any issues due to Alexandra's prompt actions. Alexandra helped us deal with unexpected annoying issues such as the tenants suddenly moving out, leaving behind a yard full of trash for which we faced a possible county citation. Lucy and I were traveling a lot during this time, and Alexandra was a life saver in our absence. Through all this, Alexandra kept us well informed via telephone, text and email (we did not live close to this property at all), and we knew we were in good hands. We would not hesitate to select Alexandra again on any future real estate transactions.
