Janet Marcus moved back to her hometown, Manhasset, in 2005, after relocating, several times, throughout the country. Having effectively navigated the intricacies of the buying and selling process, Janet has developed strategies for marketing, negotiating and handling all manner of obstacles along this journey. Janet is a seasoned and tech savvy agent whose clients benefit from her extensive experience (ranging from co-op apartments to luxury properties), the time tested and cutting-edge resources that she uses, as well as her vast network of personal and professional relationships on the North Shore of Long Island. Janet understands firsthand that a skilled and polished agent can be a beacon of light throughout this process. After graduating from St. John's University with high honors, Janet spent time as a Public Finance Analyst with a major international law firm, where she worked with municipal clients in public relations and the issuance of bonds. She brings that same diplomacy, precision and attention to detail to her work in real estate. Janet is an active volunteer in her community and in the Manhasset Public Schools. When she is not working, Janet (a wife and mother of two children) enjoys photography, cooking, tennis, skiing and spending time with her family and friends. Languages Spoken: Farsi German Testimonials: "Janet Marcus is the most incredible real estate agent we have ever had experienced in the process of selling our home. From start to finish, from the original listing, the marketing, the staging, overseeing minor repairs, from attending every single potential showing, for selecting the most promising purchaser, from negotiating the final contract, Janet performed an outstanding and incredible job of taking this home from the initial listing to a final sale. Janet is incredibly knowledgeable, joyful and a wonderful experience to work with. I only wish I had another house for her to sell. Anyone would be be very fortunate to have her as their real estate broker." "We had the pleasure of having Janet represent us in the sale of our home, and what a marvelous experience that was! Not only is Janet professional and dependable, she is also a personable and caring individual who goes above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done. With her accurate sense of the market, Janet listed and sold our house in one weekend (with multiple offers on the table). We were most impressed with her high level of integrity, which she had demonstrated throughout the negotiation process. We've dealt with many real estate professionals through the years, and Janet is a keeper for sure!" "Janet was a marvelous and attentive agent for us. She did everything to perfection, from staging our home, working with contractors, solving knotty problems, and, of course, finding us a buyer. She is eternally upbeat and conscientious. She is the consummate professional - unflappable, considerate, and knowledgeable. Janet is also fun to work with. My only regret is that we don't have another property to sell. I miss working with her." "We have known and worked with Janet since 2013. She is knowledgeable, honest and professional and patiently guided us throughout our long search until we found the perfect (dream) home. We are very grateful to have found such a talented agent and now a good friend!" "Janet is a true professional. She is very experienced and extremely pleasant to work with. She is always smiling, and was diligent and patient during our many open houses! She also understands how to stage and present a house and had great suggestions to help us sell our home. When it came time for negotiation, she was patient, creative, and respectful of all parties involved. Thank you, Janet." • "We decided to return to Great Neck Plaza after twenty years of living in NJ. After contacting brokers at several major real estate firms, I could not quite settle on anyone. By sheer luck, Janet happened to return the phone message I left at Daniel Gale. As soon as we started speaking, my gut instinct told me I found the right person. And sure enough, I was right! Janet has extensive expertise not just of all North shore communities in general, but of Great Neck in particular. She has a genuinely friendly, yet professional demeanor and is very tactful in dealing with sellers. She led us through the entire buying process seamlessly. We are now happily living in a beautiful co-op on a much-desired street in the Plaza and could not be happier. Thank you, Janet, for your time, patience, and know-how! You are definitely the BEST!!!" "When we decided to sell our house in South Strathmore, Janet provided sound advice around marketing strategies and pricing, leading to multiple bids that led to a sale price over asking. Janet also represented us on our purchase in Munsey Park. She knows the neighborhood and the market conditions, and would make sure we knew what was coming on before it was on MLS. She helped us navigate a very competitive bidding process and we ultimately purchased the house we wanted." "Janet Marcus is not only highly skilled at her job but also one of the most caring people I have ever met. She truly has the clients best intentions in the forefront. Prior to my putting my apt. on the market, she helped me pick a neighborhood by showing me potential areas and coops that I might like. Janet sold my house at an amazing profit as well as got me the coop of my dreams, Anyone would be very lucky to have Janet represent them." "I rarely write reviews but we had such an amazing experience with our real estate professional Janet Marcus, that it warranted it. We were under the gun to find something fairly quickly as our other place was being sold and Janet was on top of finding us as close to what we wanted as possible, and she was completely on point. She was responsive, intelligent about the area, sweet and stood by our side in every step of the process, especially with an extremely difficult seller. In fact, she did everything in her power to make us feel comfortable with our purchase. I can't recommend her enough." "Janet is extremely professional and thorough. She knows the Great Neck market quite thoroughly, and proved very insightful in how to prepare and stage our house for sale, as well as appropriate pricing strategies. We sold the property quickly and for much more than our asking price, and the house needed some significant work."
