If you are looking to buy a home in San Antonio, YOU *MUST* CHOOSE GINGER AS YOUR REALTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please PLEASE just trust me on this; I don’t use exclamation points and caps lock lightly.
Ginger was truly a Godsend when my husband and I (first time homebuyers) were looking to buy a house. As soon as we met her at an open house, we knew we needed her to be our realtor. I was flabbergasted by her wealth of knowledge about San Antonio neighborhoods and in particular, historic communities and historic homes. After we asked her to be our realtor and she agreed, we had an onboarding meeting during which time she gave us a thorough overview of the home buying process. I found this incredibly useful as a newbie buyer.
During the process of looking for a home, Ginger never pressured us to make an offer or to look at homes that were not in our preferred neighborhood or style. She was also extremely respectful of our budget. In fact, she insisted on finding and showing us multiple homes well below our budget while still meeting our other criteria, all while telling us details about the surrounding neighborhood.
Ginger was also *extremely excellent* at proactively communicating and answering questions in a prompt, thorough and clear manner, regardless of the day or time; given my work schedule there were many times when I could not talk until the late evening, but Ginger ALWAYS made the time to be readily available. She even sent us follow up communication and helpful reminders via text/email at 11pm, weekends, and even while she was on vacation and during the Christmas holidays! She sent us calendar invites/reminders too so we never fell behind on our “to do” list.
Ginger also helped us with tasks that I doubt realtors typically offer to do…like finding the best lender for us, communicating with said lender on our behalf (with our permission, of course) to make sure we weren’t leaving money on the table, scheduling the house inspection (with not only the inspector but also a roofer, insulation guy, electrician, a second roofer, etc for repair estimates), scheduling the appraisal, ordering our home warranty, giving us her recommended timeline for when to do repairs after purchasing the home (for example: replace the roof first, then repair the insulation in the attic). She even gave us a fantastic recommendation for a new mattress (Cantwell Mattress) when we casually mentioned we’d need a new one after moving. She also educated us a lot on all things historic home, as the house we ultimately bought is about 100 years old.
After we closed on the house, Ginger continued to help us (for example, she checked on us when we accidentally set off the house’s alarm system— whoops) and gave us a very thoughtful parting gift.
On closing day, I told my husband, “Wow, that was all so easy”. My husband laughed and replied, “It was only easy because of Ginger”. I know he’s right, and I am deeply grateful that we got to work with her. My only fear is that she will retire before my husband and I need to sell/buy another home…
So there you have it. If Ginger could make buying a house feel easy to this first time buyer with a Type A, detail-oriented personality, I’m sure she could do the same for you. I would leave my contact info here in case you need further convincing, but I’m paranoid about getting spam. Ginger, if you read this— feel free to pass along my contact info to any potential future customers! Also, please don’t ever retire. 😬
