Customers consistently appreciate Carmen Baskind for her personable approach, expert guidance, integrity, and ability to achieve outstanding results. For more than 19 years, she has helped buyers and sellers throughout Southwest Florida navigate the real estate market with confidence, providing attentive service and a commitment to exceeding expectations. A full-time REALTOR®, Carmen is recognized for her strategic marketing, skilled negotiation, and forward-thinking approach. She is committed to ongoing learning and professional development to stay current with market trends, technology, and industry best practices. As part of the Sotheby's International Realty® global network, she collaborates with advisors throughout the United States, providing customers with valuable referral relationships, relocation resources, and exposure to qualified buyers nationwide. She also assists customers with annual and seasonal lease opportunities. Carmen specializes in residential properties from "Gulf to golf," including single-family homes, condominiums, and lease properties throughout Longboat Key, Siesta Key, Anna Maria Island, Sarasota, Bird Key, Lido Key, Palmer Ranch, Lakewood Ranch, University Park, and surrounding communities. Whether helping first-time buyers, seasonal residents, investors, or those relocating, her goal is to make every real estate transaction rewarding, informed, and as stress-free as possible. Her extensive knowledge of Sarasota's neighborhoods, waterfront communities, cultural attractions, and coastal lifestyle makes her a trusted resource long after the closing. Real estate is a natural extension of Carmen's lifelong background in design. Her father was a builder who taught her to read blueprints and understand construction at an early age. Before entering real estate, she owned a Sarasota design studio for 15 years, where she worked with homeowners and builders on space planning, model homes, furniture design, and interior finishes. She also served as a color consultant for French and English wallcovering and fabric collections customized for the U.S. market. This experience gives her customers a unique perspective when evaluating a property's potential, preparing a home for sale, or envisioning renovations. Carmen and her late husband first discovered Siesta Key in 1983 while escaping a harsh Pittsburgh winter. They immediately fell in love with the area's beaches, lifestyle, and sense of community. After returning home, they sold their house and made Sarasota their permanent home. Today, Carmen proudly lives on Siesta Key and enjoys sharing her firsthand knowledge of the area's neighborhoods and coastal lifestyle with her customers. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University and also attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Outside of real estate, Carmen enjoys collecting art, gourmet cooking, raising orchids, spending time with dogs, and giving back to the community. She volunteers at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, is a past president of the Selby Associates Board, and supports Southeastern Guide Dogs along with several other local charitable organizations. For Carmen, real estate is about more than buying and selling homes - it's about building lasting relationships, providing trusted advice, and helping buyers and sellers make confident decisions at every stage of the process
