There are people who move to the coast for a season — and others who quietly build a life around it. For Ashley Phathanak, the Forgotten Coast began as a professional opportunity, but quickly became something much more personal. After years spent building a career in property management and co-founding a company rooted in rentals and investments, Ashley relocated to Port St. Joe to oversee a multimillion-dollar apartment community. What she found here was more than a market. It was a slower pace, a stronger sense of community, and the kind of lifestyle that quietly changes your priorities. Today, Ashley serves buyers and sellers throughout Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas, Mexico Beach, and St. George Island, bringing a perspective shaped by more than a decade in property management before transitioning fully into real estate. That background gives her clients an uncommon advantage, particularly those considering second homes, vacation properties, or investment opportunities along the coast. She understands not only the excitement of purchasing property, but also the realities of ownership, management, and long-term value. What sets Ashley apart, though, is less about transactions and more about connection. Her conversations with clients rarely stay limited to square footage or price points. Instead, she finds herself learning about their families, their routines, and the kind of life they hope to create here. Many of the people she works with are searching for more than a home; they’re searching for a shift. A slower morning. More time together. A place that feels grounded and restorative. That understanding comes from experience. While transitioning into real estate, Ashley was simultaneously balancing motherhood, business responsibilities, and the demands of building a new career. The resilience developed during that chapter continues to shape the way she serves clients today: dependable, thoughtful, and steady from first conversation through closing and beyond. Clients often describe her as calm under pressure, deeply dependable, and genuinely invested long after closing day. To Ashley, the relationship does not end at the transaction. She stays connected, checks in, and continues serving as a resource well beyond the sale. When she is not working, Ashley’s world revolves around her children, family, and the simple moments that make coastal living meaningful — beach days in Windmark, evenings with friends at Uptown Raw Bar, and quiet mornings near the water with coffee in hand. For Ashley, the idea of home has always centered around comfort, connection, and having a place where family can truly settle in and enjoy everyday life. That is exactly what she hopes every client finds here along the Forgotten Coast.
