After 6 months on the market with no activity, we took our large home in a gated community off of the market. After interviewing agents, we hired Lauren. She made some recommendations (ie - have the house staged) which we followed and our home was re-listed. We saw an immediate uptick in activity, and several months had an offer. With input from Lauren, we negotiated a price that was acceptable and after a challenging and extended sale (outside of her control) the home closed. Lauren assisted me with the sale of my Chicago South Loop condo. This was an investment property whose value dropped significantly after the 2008 market collapse. In such situations, one feels even more concerned about the costs associated with the sale…and if/when it would. Lauren remained sensitive to this fact as I knew that I would still be selling the property at a loss. Additionally, Lauren’s knowledge about the history of the market, the neighborhood, and upcoming construction helped us to identify a price that would be attractive to a seller, while ensuring that we maximized my outcome. At no point did I feel rushed into a quick sale. Her attention to detail (painting, carpeting, repairs, and staging) were not things I had considered; but I came to understand how important these things were to remain competitive.
