This is a review that is truly a joy to write. My husband Rich and I moved to Illinois a year ago and rented an apartment in Evanston to give ourselves time to find the perfect home in the northeast Chicago suburbs. Laura McCaughey was the perfect real estate agent to help us! We found ourselves looking during the height of the real estate boom and houses were hard to come by. This, combined with some very specific needs for our perfect home made it seem like it would be impossible to find something. As first time home buyers, she explained everything (all the new lingo!) and educated us along the home buying journey. She was very thorough in answering questions and finding out answers. She was able to provide helpful insights on when to start our search since we were navigating an apartment lease. One thing we most appreciated was Laura’s punctuality, responsiveness, and follow through via text, phone calls, and email with us as well as the lawyer and lender. She even assisted with a few matters after the closing! She was the perfect guide for us newbies! Her warm, calm demeanor with fun spunkiness was trustworthy and reliable during all stages of the home buying process. She was a good advocate for us when situations called for it. Laura made the process seamless. She was very knowledgeable, supportive, and responsive. It seemed as if you were looking for houses with a friend, albeit one that has years of realty experience. Moreover, she was always looking out for our best interests. If I were to be asked for a realtor recommendation in the future, Laura would be my first suggestion.
