We first met Stephanie in the winter of 2013 when we began our search for a new home. At the time, my husband and I had a one and a half year old son, and were pregnant with our second child. For me, this was not the ideal time to be simultaneously selling our house and looking for a new one. However, for us, staying in our current home was not an option - our first born has Down syndrome and we needed to be in one of a few select school districts in the city that could best serve his needs.I was more interested in preexisting homes, while my husband was more interested in building. And with every visit to every model home with each sales rep, my opinion was growing stronger and stronger. I felt like no one would listen to us. Our list of "must haves" was not terribly long. We needed to be in a good school district, we needed space, we needed the capacity to turn a portion of the house into a private living space (in case our son would require assisted living in the future, and it all had to fit in the budget. But each salesperson we spoke with would not listen to the whole list. If the house was perfect, it was not in budget. If it was in the budget, it was smaller than our current home. And I was shocked at all the options that were "pushed" on us that were out of district! That was our whole reason for looking in the first place! I was beginning to feel like nothing would work, and we would just have to stay where we where forever. Then we met Stephanie. We were very clear about what we needed and what we wanted. Right from the start, Stephanie found an option for us in our starting price range. She listened and put together a home that we got really excited about. But as we started adding additions onto the base home, it began to fall out of our budget. Once again, we were let down. We went back to another builder, and priced out a near exact home, in the neighborhood across the street from Stephanie's recommendation. It was affordable, but we could not help but feel let down. We went home and started weighing our options. And I went back to looking at preexisting homes, hoping that someone would listed a screaming deal in order to close fast. That's when Stephanie called us back. We were used to salespeople calling back - usually to follow-up and see if we "thought more about" the awful option they presented to us in the first place. But not Stephanie. She was calling because she thought about something else - she had an idea. We came back in to talk to her and she presented us with a house that was out of our starting price range. Immediately, I grew frustrated - I thought I was talking to another salesperson who's solution was just to throw more money at the problem. But as I listened, I learned what Stephanie had done for us. She had taken all of our needs and our wants and priced them in the higher starting price home. Several things that were additions in the lower base price home, were included in this model. As the list grew and grew, we began to find that things on our wants list were becoming more and more achievable. I sat in awe as I watched this person take our problem and turn it into a solution. We signed with this builder because of Stephanie, and we are glad that we did. As we moved throughout the process, we felt well-prepared and were hit with very few surprises. At time of selections on the home, we walked out of the design center, only spending about $1,000 more than the estimated price we worked out with Stephanie. The team at the design center even commented on how Stephanie is known for her honesty and her clients hardly ever have major shocks as they do their selections.I know for a fact that I could not have purchased a preexisting house similar to the one we built in our budget and I know it is because of Stephanie and her superior critical thinking skills and creativity. I feel very comfortable in recommending Stephanie to anyone looking for a new home. I would recommend her to my own family. Buying a house is major event in anyone's life. Those who help in the process of buying or selling homes are asking people to put a great deal of trust in them. Stephanie is worthy of that trust. She will treat you even better than she would treat herself. She will make you feel like you are the most important client in the world, because to her, you are. And she is always looking out for #1 - you!
