It never occurred to me I might find my "dream home." When we first walked through the home I just closed on, I told myself to walk away. Erica Johnson, my realtor, pointed out she knew the selling realtor and she could keep an eye on it.
She made the process easy and always had choices available with notes on the options she favored, from inspectors to financers to areas of town. She didn't talk me into anything and was not afraid to be honest if she noticed issues with a property. She was quick with responses. She quickly became the first call in dealing with unknowns in the process or issues that came up suddenly, as was the case as closing day approached. She kept up between all parties and kept me informed of everything important.
I am now sitting in my home, thanks in no small part to the work of Erica Johnson of Berkshire Hathaway. Erica's experience, network of people, and understanding where instrumental in becoming a satisfied homeowner.
Erica was an amazing agent. I am a first-time home buyer and have enough life experience to know what I did and didn't want. After speaking to a couple other agents who were "meh", I found Erica through a co-worker. From the get-go she was very positive. She was more certain than I was that we would find something for me. This optimism continued for a year and a half. I'm really not sure any other agent out there could have been as patient and understanding as Erica was with me. Sometimes we would see a house that had many great features, and she would say "do you want to make an offer?" and I usually said "no" but with a valid reason. I would tell her the reason and she never acted like it wasn't an important factor. She never tried to talk me out of my decision. She would say "Yes, that is true. We will keep looking. Your house is out there!" Over that time, she knew all these "must-haves" I had on my list. We both knew I wouldn't get every single thing, but she knew the list as well as I did. I really appreciated all Erica did for me. Out of the two of us, she was the consistently positive one. There were some times where I thought we weren't going to find anything, times when I was very discouraged, and times when there weren't any houses I was interested in. But Erica stuck with it and stuck with me. And now I have a house!
Bonus: She was also great about answering questions -- any questions. And she has great knowledge about houses and can point out possible issues/problems and what might be needed to fix them/what type of professional to talk to in order to fix them.
