She provided me with invaluable guidance in terms of understanding housing prices and value in an ever-changing market. She helped me set realistic expectations. She developed both buying and selling strategies for me. And at the end of the day, she got it done just like she did when I bought my first home. I am forever grateful to her.

Melony was wonderfully helpful. I am moving to Boston and I didn't know the areas. Besides her deep knowledge of the JP/Roslindale area, she knew some specific houses (warts and all) and offered good advice on all the houses we considered. Frankly, I didn't know what I wanted when I started the process, other than wanting to be near my daughter. It took several iterations under Melony's expert guidance for us to identify and weigh other criteria. Notably, I had seen the house we eventually bought and rejected it several weeks earlier because it didn't seem right for us. I didn't even mention it to Melony. Melony dissuaded me from houses that seemed right by raising questions I hadn't considered. She said yes, that's a good place, but you'd be pretty isolated from any sort of social scene; don't you want to be near a coffee shop? She said, yes, it's a bit further than you want, but have you considered an e-bike? Eventually all the tradeoffs became clear. And by the time that the house I'd rejected came back on the market, it then seemed like an optimal choice, so we bought it. This would all have gone very differently if Melony had not had the patience and tenacity to dig into what we wanted, when we didn't know, ourselves. I think this will be my 17th home. Certainly it is the one I've thought about the hardest, not because it was a difficult choice but because I needed help figuring out criteria. For this help, I am very grateful to Melony. As to the rest -- the offer, the negotiations, getting the cash in place and closing -- Melony helped at every step so it all went very smoothly. Melony met with my financial advisor to figure out what we could afford. It was a pleasure and an education to be in that meeting. Melony also put me in touch with people who had nothing to do with buying a house but will help in other ways when I get to Boston. And she offered professional advice to my daughter on the ins and outs of co-owning the house with me.
