Originally a native Californian, Sherry George grew up on the west coast in the Southern California. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising. George played on the university’s nationally ranked Division I women’s volleyball team for four years. After graduating college, she pursed careers in advertising and athletic apparel sales, which took her to both Los Angeles and New York. “These places never really felt like home. I didn’t feel like I was truly home until I settled in the South, specifically in the Charlotte area in 1998,” explains George. Two decades later, she still possesses that same, rich enthusiasm for living in the Queen City.
