I would rank Kevin Lau, who works for Reece Nichols, a 10. I would give Reece Nichols a 10 for having them as one of their agents. I recently went through a complicated process of 1031 in selling my home in LA. After living in the midwest for nearly fifteen years now, because we didn't sell it in a specified time frame, we faced the potential of giving a tremendous amount of our gains to tax. The 1031 allowed us to sell the home and purchase something of equal value in the KC area. Our experience dealing with a top LA firm was good, but I felt it was fast, and we should have gotten more. The 1031 had us find a firm in the KC area to begin looking in the event it sold. The firm we had lined up was a bad experience, for the broker showed one property he felt was "the one." We didn't share the opinion and fortunately found Kevin. Never meeting and only through an initial phone call. Within a tiny window, he found a beautiful new triplex and a new single-family residence at the price we needed. He worked tirelessly to pull the properties together, dealt with the developers to meet the deadline, and closed everything with no ripples. Kevin took all the concerns and aggravations with timing, lawyers, accountants, builders, and more away from us. I have never been more impressed with someone like Kevin to help through uncharted waters with considerable funds (LA value vs KC) under the pressure imposed. Kevin has become a true friend, and we will continue to work with him. He answered emails at any time and kept in constant contact. I give Reece Nichols kudos for having this person represent them when few would provide the quality service you expect from a broker. I can say more about Kevin, but I wish to ensure that the message of a young, ethical, motivated person in today's market should be noticed, valued, and rewarded.
