Kay, is so good in her career as a realtor. She is kind in her honesty. She listened to our goals and concerns, gave us professional advice while also accommodating our requests. Kay kept us informed, checked in often to keep us encouraged, and suggested ways to promote our listing on social media. Kay is a pleasure to work with and we won't hesitate to recommend her to friends and family.
This part of the process was in no way Kay's doing, she was just the messenger. I'm not really sure where communication broke down regarding this final step. Our only suggestion would be to NOT do the buyers final walk through the morning of the signing. It created undue confusion and misunderstanding which "spoiled the moment". The house was ready for viewing that entire week Monday-Thursday. It was our understanding that the final walk through would take place on Thursday and papers would be signed on Friday morning. After we spent $600 for professional cleaning to make sure everything was as nice as it could be, the buyers last minute demands totaling less than $200, (items which we considered to be personal property) left us feeling shamed rather than generous when we were asked to return them. Really, that was the only negative throughout the process. It could have been easily explained and resolved the day before as planned - but at 9:30 with our closing at 10:00, it came off as rude and unreasonable.
Kay helped us so much through the highs and lows of the house buying/selling process! There was a lot going on in just a short amount of time. But Kay was honest, confident, direct, and a good communicator. She answered calls and text pretty much immediately no matter the time. It gave us the assurances that it would all work out, and it did. I’d recommend her to anyone!
I’ve known Kay Barker for years. She’s a wonderful, honest person and exactly the right person to handle housing for families new to the Mt Vernon area.
