We needed a house in Spotsylvania sold fast & for the highest possible price too. A dear old friend of mine was getting dementia, she was living alone, and was being taken advantage of by her caretaker & a bad reverse mortgage. She had no one there to help and I live in California. The caretaker had been medicating her, emptied her bank account & taken everything of value from the house, even the washer & dryer. I got her out of there & flew her to live with me, but the house had to go, it was costing her more every day. I had called several real estate offices and Delia at Long and Foster got back to me right away and said she’d help. I had no choice, I had to put my trust in a stranger. What mattered most was that my friend was able to retain as much as she possible to cover her for the time she has left. Delia was with me, she quickly saw what had been going on & took on quite the rescue project! She cleaned up the place – and it was bad! She got the big furniture that was left donated, got the house de bugged and scrubbed clean inside & out. Listed for top dollar and closed at asking price far sooner than anyone thought possible in spite of it being a storm riddled snowy holiday season often with no power at all! She made it effortless for this confused elderly sweet lady & that, I’m sure, wasn’t easy on her. She wrapped it up by mailing us a platter I’d painted for my friend many years ago that said “sometimes I think you’re my whole family”, it was the kindest thing! Delia is a pro, she knows her stuff, she does what she said she’d do. She has heart & grit & class, thank God for her!
